Numismatics

The Ministry of Economy and Finance today issued the first coin of the Numismatic Collection of the Italian Republic 2024, minted by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (Ipzs).

The coin is dedicated to the city of Pesaro, “Italian Capital of Culture 2024” and promoter of Rossini’s music, birthplace of the famous composer Gioachino Rossini, placing the links between art, nature and technology at the roots of a new concept of widespread and inclusive culture. The coin depicts the main monuments of the capital of the Marche region, a way to make the architectural beauty of our country known and appreciated.

The copper coin, with a face value of EUR 5, was designed by the artist engraver Uliana Pernazza and produced at the Officine della Zecca dello Stato, in a Brilliant Uncirculated version and with a mintage of 4,500 pieces.

You can view the coins in the Numismatic Collection Catalogue 2024 published on the website of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, where other issues planned for the year are listed.
