Numismatic Collection 2024: the Koala coin that concludes the “Sustainable World - Endangered Animals” Series is issued
The Ministry of Economy and Finance today issued the latest coin in the “Sustainable World - Endangered Animals” series, minted by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato and a tribute to environmental sustainability and the protection of wildlife.
After the issues dedicated to the Tiger, the Polar Bear, the African Elephant and the Jaguar, the star subject is the Koala, symbol of the vulnerability of global ecosystems.
The coin, produced in four-colour process with phosphorescence elements and minted in bronzital, was designed by the artist engraver Silvia Petrassi.
The work, with a face value of EUR 5, is available in a proof version with a limited mintage of 7,000 pieces, making it an exclusive item for collectors and nature lovers.
You can view the coins in the Numismatic Collection Catalogue 2024 published on the website of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, where other issues planned for the year are listed.
