On 3 May, at the Museo del Risorgimento in Turin, the “Ai4Industry” Foundation was presented with the aim of overseeing artificial intelligence applications for industrial development.

The Statute of the new Foundation was approved with the DPCM of 26 January 2024, prepared by the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, in agreement with the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and the Ministry of University and Research.

The budget that the State allocates to the Foundation is 20 million euros per year and public bodies and companies, in particular those with a high technological and innovative content, can take part in it. They undertake to make a contribution in cash/goods or services for at least three years amounting to 100,000 euros/year (i.e. 0.5% of the State contribution) and to share technical knowledge, infrastructural resources and equipment.

Based in Turin, the Foundation will play a key role in the study and dissemination of applied AI techniques and methodologies in various production sectors, starting with the automotive and aerospace industry.
