Today, the Ministry of Economy and Finance issued the coin, minted by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca di Stato, celebrating the Pretoria Fountain of Palermo, from the “Fountains of Italy” Series - a theme introduced to pay homage to Italy’s most beautiful monuments - and which continues the “Journey into the Great Beauty” celebrated in the 2024 Italian Republic Minting, to discover the treasures of Italy.

The Renaissance Pretoria Fountain, symbol of Palermo, crossroads of people and populations, cultures and traditions, is immortalised in a fascinating detail that captures its essence and majesty.

The coin, created by the artist-engraver Maria Angela Cassol, is a gold micro-coin with a face value of EUR 10, minted in proof version and with a mintage of 1,500 pieces.

You can view the coins in the Numismatic Collection Catalogue 2024 published on the website of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, where other issues planned for the year are listed.
