Office VIII

Exercising analogous oversight over in-house companies falling within the area of competence of the Department of the economy. Verification of the compliance of public administrations and publicly owned companies with the provisions of Legislative Decree no.175/2016. Analysis of measures and plans for the extraordinary review and periodic rationalisation of public shareholdings, as well as sample checks on their implementation.

Sample analysis of financial statements and other mandatory documents referred to in Article 6 of Legislative Decree no. 175/2016. Identification of the contents subject to regular reporting by public administrations and publicly owned companies and analysis of the documentation received.

Relations with the Court of Auditors within the scope of matters of common interest, governed by Legislative Decree no. 175 of 19 August 2016, as well as with State General Accounting Department in implementation of the provisions of Article 15, paragraph 5 of the same Legislative Decree no. 175 of 2016. Preparation of guidelines and indications concerning the application of existing legislation, guidelines also with reference to the governance of publicly owned companies and the directives on accounting unbundling and verification of compliance.

Study and research activities on organisational and government structures of publicly controlled companies. Organisation of seminars and workshops in the areas of competence, also at international level.
