Directorate II – Corporate Shareholdings and Protection of Strategic Assets

Directorate II – Corporate Shareholdings and Protection of Strategic Assets is divided into specific management offices and performs the following functions:

  1. a) Analysing, managing and enhancing the value of the State's shareholdings in companies, as well as exercising shareholder rights, in compliance with the provisions of current legislation and, in particular, of Italian Legislative Decree No. 175 of 19 August 2016;
  2. b) Guiding, monitoring and supervising the implementation of Italian Legislative Decree No. 175 of 2016, laying down the Consolidated Law on State-Owned Enterprises;
  3. c) Managing the processes of corporatisation, privatisation and disposal, as well as supporting the processes of industrial enhancement of investee companies;
  4. d) Exercising analogous oversight over in-house companies falling within the Department's area of responsibility;
  5. e) Preparatory activities for the exercise of the special powers referred to in Italian Decree-Law No. 21 of 15 March 2012, converted, with amendments, by Italian Law No. 56 of 11 May 2012, and subsequent amendments and additions, with respect to State-Owned Enterprises;
  6. f) Relations with European Union institutions and international bodies in the areas falling within its responsibility.

 

For contacts, pending the adoption of measures to define the new Offices, the Department of the Economy will make use of the corresponding Offices and Services of the Department of the Treasury.
