Directorate I – Financial Interventions in the Economy is divided into specific management offices and performs the following functions:

1. a) Financial interventions in the various sectors of the economy, infrastructure, social support, as well as in favour of public bodies, companies and institutions, and economic analysis of their impacts;
2. b) Public guarantees;
3. c) Public support for export and internationalisation processes;
4. d) Supervision by the Department of institutions and foundations, including those of banking origin;
5. e) Settlement of exchange rate differences for payments in foreign currencies and supervision of the management of treasury currency accounts;
6. f) Minting, policies to prevent euro counterfeiting and fraud involving means of payment;
7. g) Supervision of the productions of the Italian State Printing Works and Zecca dello Stato S.p.A.; relations with the Italian State Printing Works and Zecca dello Stato S.p.A. for supplies of common printed materials and publications of the Public Administration and Official Journals;

1. h) Relations with European Union institutions and international bodies in the areas falling within its responsibility.

For contacts, pending the adoption of measures to define the new Offices, the Department of the Economy will make use of the corresponding Offices and Services of the Department of the Treasury.
